NEW FOR 2026! All license holders under the Delaware Board of Plumbing, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Examiners must complete Continuing Education requirements for the first time during the current license renewal period ending October 31, 2026. Licensees with a single license (Plumbing or HVACR) must complete 5 hours of training. Dual licensees (holding both Plumbing and HVACR licenses) must complete 6 hours of training.

Stay current – keep your license active
You may review the full regulation change under section 5.0 Continuing Education and Renewal Audits within the Board's regulations here: https://regulations.delaware.gov/AdminCode/title24/1800.shtml. Here's a summary of requirements:
- Plumbing licensees must take a 5-hour Board-approved class that covers Code changes, safety, and cross connections/ backflow.
- HVACR licensees must take a 5-hour Board-approved class that covers Code changes, safety, and changes in the energy Code.
- Dual licensees have two options to obtain the 6 hours required. 1) Take the full Plumbing course plus the 1-hour of energy Code from the HVACR course, or 2) Take the full HVACR course plus the 1-hour of cross connections/ backflow from the Plumbing course.
